Dyniss' family members nowadays tend to give gifts to only one other member of the family instead of many gifts to many people for Christmas. Two years ago, Dyniss ended up having to buy something for his cousin Michael. Instead of buying something from a store, Dyniss thought it would be a cool idea to make him a song about giving something that didn't come from a store. In the middle of the song, Dyniss recorded his family members and friends on the telephone with their ideas of what to give.
The radio version of this song became "Hey Sophie", so there would be no misunderstandings about the meaning of the song.
